The police officers from the Brașov County Police Inspectorate – Economic Crime Investigation Service, under the coordination of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice and the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police, are carrying out today, November 4, four home searches within the Brașov County, as part of the „JUPITER” operation. The action takes place in a criminal file in which investigations are being carried out regarding the commission of the crime of tax evasion in a continuous form, an act provided for by Law no. 241/2005 for the prevention and combating of tax evasion. The activities are carried out under the supervision of the case prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Brașov Tribunal.
- ” During the period 2019–2024, representatives of a commercial company in Brașov County allegedly omitted to record in the accounting records all income obtained from the retail trade of food and non-food products, thus causing damage to the consolidated state budget of over 260,000 lei. Following the searches, the police officers aim to identify and collect documents, records and storage media with evidentiary value, necessary to complete the criminal prosecution material. At the end of the activities, a person will be taken with a warrant to the police unit headquarters, for interrogations and the imposition of the necessary legal measures. Operation „JUPITER” benefits from the support of the Brașov Special Actions Service, the Brașov Criminalistic Service, the Feldioara Rural Police Department, as well as the Regional Anti-Fiscal Fraud Directorate 7 Sibiu, which mobilized two teams of inspectors. ” The Brașov Police announces that research activities continue in order to document all criminal activity and recover the damage caused to the state budget, ” specifies the IJP Brașov.
