The police officers from the Brașov County Police Inspectorate – Economic Crime Investigation Service, under the coordination of the prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Brașov Court, implemented on Wednesday, November 12, six home search warrants at properties in Brașov County. The procedural activities took place within a criminal file in which investigations are being carried out in terms of committing the crime of cigarette smuggling. From the evidence administered, there are indications that three individuals would have carried out, between June 2025 and present, activities of possession and marketing of excisable products (cigarettes), without complying with the legal provisions.
- „During the searches, goods, documents and storage media were discovered and seized, and approximately 30,000 cigarettes were also discovered. Three people were taken to the Brașov Police headquarters for questioning and the appropriate legal measures. The damage caused by the criminal activity is to be determined later, during the investigation ,” the Brașov Police informed.
