A 42-year-old Ukrainian citizen, who was internationally wanted for serious crimes committed with violence, was caught by the Brașov police yesterday, November 6, 2019. The identification action was carried out by the police officers from the Brașov Criminal Investigation Service, with the support of the County Immigration Service and the Brașov Special Actions Service. The man was wanted for crimes of blackmail and serious bodily harm, acts committed by an organized group, and an arrest warrant was issued against him for the execution of a 12-year prison sentence, according to Ukrainian criminal law. He was presented to the prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Brașov Court of Appeal, who ordered his detention for 24 hours, being placed in the Detention and Preventive Arrest Center of the Brașov IPJ, and will be presented before the judge of the Brașov Court of Appeal to initiate legal proceedings regarding persons identified in such situations.
