Video. Operațiunea ,,Jupiter“, o nouă etapă. Percheziții la beneficiarii programul „START-UP NATION”

Searches in several counties in a case targeting the illegal obtaining of funds through the „START-UP NATION” program. As part of Operation Jupiter under the coordination of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice and the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police, on November 6, 2025, the police officers of the Economic Crime Investigation Service of the Brașov County Police Inspectorate, under the coordination of the case prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Brașov Tribunal, carry out a large-scale operational action within a criminal case, in which the crimes of attempted illegal obtaining of funds and forgery of documents under private signature are investigated. As part of the action, 20 home search warrants are being implemented in seven counties in the country: Cluj (10 searches), Bihor (4), Hunedoara (1), Caraș-Severin (1), Prahova (2), Neamț (1) and Bucharest Municipality – Sector 3 (1 search). The criminal case was established following the ex officio notification of the police officers from SICE-Brașov, who documented the criminal activity of some individuals, carried out during the period 2022–2025, which allegedly consisted of making requests to obtain funds through the „START-UP NATION” program, of 2,400,000 lei, using false documents. The searches target the homes of the individuals and the registered offices of the commercial companies involved, places where documents and material evidence relevant to the case were discovered, which will be seized to complete the evidence. Also, 8 people will be questioned and documents will be seized based on 17 ordinances issued by criminal investigation bodies. The operation is being carried out with the support of police officers specialized in investigating economic crime from the County Police Inspectorates of Cluj, Bihor, Hunedoara, Neamț, Prahova, Caraș-Severin, Sălaj, Sibiu, Ilfov, as well as from Sectors 1 and 3 of Bucharest Municipality.

The activities are carried out with the aim of documenting all criminal activity and holding the individuals involved accountable, in accordance with legal provisions.

The police specify that the searches and interrogations aim to obtain evidence within an ongoing criminal investigation, in which the persons investigated benefit from the procedural rights and guarantees provided by the Code of Criminal Procedure, as well as the presumption of innocence.
