One person died, another was transported by helicopter to Tg. Mureş, and two others arrived at the hospital in Făgăraș.
Because the coroner was on vacation, the family took over the young man’s body only after 3 days.
A serious road accident occurred on Friday, August 31, 2018, around 9:00 a.m., on DJ 104J, between Şona and Făgăraș. One person died on the spot, another was transported by helicopter to Tg. Mureș and two other victims were transported to the Făgăraș Municipal Hospital.
According to law enforcement, a utility vehicle crashed head-on into a car, and the impact was devastating. SMURD crews, the Ambulance, and the Traffic Police immediately arrived at the scene, and traffic was interrupted for two hours in both directions. The Ford minibus was traveling from Făgăraş to Șona, when it lost control of the steering wheel and went the wrong way, colliding head-on with an Opel car that was traveling legally. The 25-year-old driver of the minibus died, SMURD’s resuscitation maneuvers being in vain. The other three victims in the Opel car, aged 20 and 38, were transported to the Făgăraş Hospital, and the third victim, aged 63, was monitored and transported by SMURD helicopter to the hospital in Tg. Mureş with a suspected hip fracture.
Three days at the Morgue in Brașov
Sergiu Dunca was 25 years old, he was from ŞoarŞ and he worked in distribution for a company in FăgăraŞ. „He was a hardworking, energetic and serious boy. He had been working for this company for about 2 months and he was reliable. Bad luck caused this accident to happen and he died. „It’s a shame, he had life ahead of him,” said sources close to Sergiu Dunca’s family. The young man’s funeral is scheduled for Wednesday, September 5, 2018, 6 days after the unfortunate event. The young man’s lifeless body was deposited at the Morgue in Brașov for an autopsy, and the family only took over their son on Monday, September 3. And this is despite the fact that there is a Morgue in Făgăraș, but at this time the forensic doctor is on leave and has no replacement. „Only in Romania can something like this happen, you can’t mourn your loved one because he’s locked up in the morgue,” said sources close to the family.
