Three people, including a Spanish citizen, who are administrators of a boarding house in Moieciu de Jos and who provided, through their company, care services for the elderly, are being investigated by prosecutors in Brașov for tax evasion and embezzlement. The damage to the state budget is estimated at over 1 million lei.
According to a statement released on Monday by the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Brasov Tribunal, from 2011 to 2017, the three individuals did not record in the company’s accounting and in the company’s profit tax and VAT declarations the commercial operations carried out and the income generated from the provision of care services for the elderly, in order to evade paying tax obligations to the state budget. The damage was established in the amount of 1,070,772 lei. Prosecutors from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Brasov Tribunal ordered the establishment of the insurance seizure of the pension and the related land with an area of 2,116 square meters in the locality of Moieciu de Jos, with a total market value of 1,980,037 lei (at the level of 2017).
The Regional General Directorate of Public Finances Braşov was a civil party in the criminal case with the amount of 1,070,772 lei, of which, following the initiation of the forced execution procedure against the company, PTBE SRL, the amount of 55,582 lei was recovered.
- „Also, during the period 01.01.2011-03.08.2022, the suspects – individuals – ordered the recording of unreal expenses in the accounting records of the legal entity, based on invoices issued by alleged suppliers of fuel, construction materials and pharmaceutical products, and on the other hand, the same suspects ordered payments to be made from the legal entity’s cash register, illegally justified by the fictitious operations reflected in the respective invoices, thus appropriating various amounts of money,” the press release states.
The criminal investigations also target the company, PTBE SRL, in terms of committing the crime of tax evasion, the press release also states.
